Passport and Visa Photo Sizes by Country

Photo sizes differ more than most people expect. A US photo is square, Schengen and UK photos are 35×45 mm, and Canada asks for a much larger 50×70 mm print. Here are the sizes Nouply supports.

How to read the table

Photo size is the printed width × height. Head height is measured from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head. Your photo must fall within that range, not just match the outer size.

Inches or millimeters?

The United States and India use 2×2 inches, which is 50.8×50.8 mm. Most other countries use millimeters. Don't round a 2×2 inch photo to 50×50 mm or trim a 35×45 mm photo to fit another size: cropping changes the head height and can get the photo rejected.

Printing at the right size

Print your photo at 100% scale, never "fit to page". Nouply saves photos at 300 DPI and creates a 4×6 inch (10×15 cm) print sheet with several copies, which any photo kiosk or online print service can print at the correct size.
